Pomai Nakoa, L.A.c
Aloha Kākou! My name is Pomaikaikealoha (Pomai) Nakoa, and I am a Licensed Acupuncturist dedicated to holistic healing, inspired by both personal experiences and a deep connection to community and our natural environment. My path to becoming a healer began in high school, when I suffered from chronic abdominal pain for over two years which later developed into seizures—an experience that left me feeling frustrated and overlooked by conventional medicine. Everything changed when I met an acupuncturist who specialized in gastrointestinal and chronic pain conditions. With her support and care, I became symptom-free within two months. That moment transformed my life and inspired me to pursue this powerful medicine.
I earned my Master of Science in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) as Valedictorian at Alhambra Medical University, where I trained extensively in acupuncture, herbal medicine, and bodywork. I hold dual bachelor's degrees in Theater and Psychology from Occidental College—fields that continue to support my strengths in communication, creativity, empathy, and patient-centered care. My education, combined with internships in Hawai‘i, California, and Ecuador, has shaped me into a well-rounded, compassionate practitioner with hands-on experience in treating a wide range of conditions. I provide clear, thoughtful treatment plans rooted in TCM while incorporating nutrition, movement based directives, lifestyle recommendations, and patient education.
In my free time, I love to climb, hike, forage, be in or near wai (water), craft, garden, and spend time with my loved ones. I am so thrilled to be here at Renewal Wellness and hope to help you along your wellness journey!
Beth Mcmahan, LMBT
Julianna Stilwell, LMBT
Hello! I’m Julianna, mother of two and massage therapist of ten years.
I’ve wanted to be a massage therapist since I was five years old when my great grandfather paid me $1 for a back-rub at a family cookout. Massage has been a passion of mine ever since!
When you come to me I will strive to help you feel your best, whether we are working through trouble areas with a massage tailored to your needs or helping you feel relaxed and revitalized all over with Esalen and Swedish massage techniques!
When I’m not helping people feel better I’m running around with my two little boys, lifting weights, or learning Chinese!
I can’t wait to see old friends and meet new people here!
